parents of c3 youth

Allow me to take this chance to highlight something that has been on my heart. Since I started as full time youth pastor for C3 last year one of my aims was to grow lasting fruit in the lives of young people. This reflects the Biblical mandate that true fruit of ministry is reflected in fruit that will last: John 5: 8 & 16.

In the last two academic years 2009 - 2011 there are some early signs of fruit ripening within the youth ministry.
We have also seen steady increase of young people getting baptised and making commitments to follow Christ. We have seen a gradual growth of young people attending on regular basis and building deep relationships with each other through Friday night youth group and Sunday morning discipleship groups. This has led to the majority of youth to continue to attend church, youth nights and discipleship groups whilst having a genuine relationship with Christ.

In 2010 we embarked on a successful internship programme with Dan Jacobs and now in 2011 we have Josh Drury who came to us having spent his gap year working in London for 'Ambassdors for Christ'.

We have many more stories that we could tell you about the work we are doing in with the young people, but that would be missing the point. The purpose of C3 youth is to give God the honour and glory and our mission is to shape a generation for the cause of Christ. If we aim to do this together then we will experience long lasting fruit with our young people and your son or daughter.

So in order to help us achieve this purpose and mission there are three values listed below that we encourage all the family to adopt during their time with C3 youth ministry.

1. They attend Ignite or Rooted discipleship group to gain Biblical and spiritual insights at least monthly.

2. They serve in an area of church to develop skills and an understanding of serving at least monthly.

3. They attend where logistically possible the Friday night youth group ignition or BPM depending on age, thus enabling them to make new friends, build relationships in a safe and loving environment and experience relevant Christian teaching for their age group.

I am aware these options can place huge pressures in the lifestyle and logistics of the family so they are not mandatory but only desirable. Please feel free to chat with me about anything in this letter or anything else which may help to make the transition easier for your son or daughter into ignite, Rooted and Friday night Ignition or BPM.

I have also enclosed a brochure that will explain details on what happens on Friday night and Sunday morning.
and we have various consent forms that parents have to sign and return to Mark Stanyer when your son/ daughter is wanting to be involved in any activity away from the C3 Centre or Church on Sunday morning.
