The Listening Ear (TLE)

What is The Listening Ear?

TLE is an email service that will be serviced by committed Christians belonging to C3 who will encourage people seeking help to review or reflect on how they are approaching a situation they are concerned about.  This exciting new initiative is set up as part of the C3 Pastoral Care umbrella.

As the Church gets bigger, it is essential that provision be made to help people cope with the pressures of a busy lifestyle within the modern world we all live in.  TLE will sit alongside the other sections of Pastoral Care of C3 with the view to helping people achieve a better future and to become more effective at helping others.

It is worth noting that TLE is not a counselling service.

What can I expect?

You can expect to be listened to in a respectful manner regardless of the issue you are concerned about or your personal belief system.

You will be given time and space to examine your issue of concern without being judged

Team Helpers will show their respect for you by allowing you to take responsibility for any decisions or actions you choose to take.

The Team Helper may make suggestions as to how you could approach your situation or ask you if you would like help from alternative Pastoral Care initiatives

After you have sent an email to a Team Helper, you can expect to hear from them in 2/3 working days.

For your protection, an experienced member of C3 who is also an Accredited Counsellor with the Association of Christian Counsellors will monitor the responses from Team Helpers.

What will be expected of me?

We ask and trust you not to contact more than one Team Helper at any one time.

We hope you will be patient if the Team Helper already has more people seeking help than is possible to keep in touch with.

We will expect you to be honest, writing only about real issues of concern.

We ask you not to suggest a face-to-face meeting with a Team Helper, as their time is very limited.
